Museum for Paper Art and National Foundation for Danish America are proud to present our traveling exhibition with the Danish-Norwegian psaligrapher Bit Vejle - one of the most recognized paper cut artists in the world. The traveling exhibitions with Bit Vejle’s artworks have been touring prominent museums all over Scandinavia, USA and China, meeting considerable public attention. They always gain high visitor numbers and have reached the highest number of visitors at several museums.
Welcome to ceramist Marianne Steenholdt Bork! Marianne is particularly well known for her sumptuously exotic lion creatures, decorated in warm colors and with gold that shines in the dark. Elegance, expressiveness and touch of the primitive – these are all attributes that can be found in the elaborately decorated ceramics. She is inspired by nature and the stories and the pictures she encounters on her journeys.
NFDA is pleased to continue touring Susanne Thea’s work across the United States. Her exhibit “Snapshots: Traveling with the Poet H.C Andersen” has been shown at several American locations since 2020. We continue to offer “Snapshots”, and now selections from her exhibit “The Deep Blue Sea” will also be offered. Susanne has received exhibition and travel grants both at home and abroad as a member of international graphic workshops and is represented in Sweden, Italy, Holland, Germany, the UK, Australia, and Canada as well as at museums in Denmark, Ireland, the USA and the Fiji Islands.
The tour of all three exhibits will begin in Southern California in late 2023. After touring the west coast, the exhibits will travel east. Each exhibition period will be 2-3 months.
Venues may choose all three exhibits or select specific exhibits.
There is no fee for these exhibitions. There will be some costs for shipping and insurance, but NFDA is receiving grant support from the American Scandinavian Foundation and the Scan Design Foundation to help with these costs.
Exhibit pieces will be offered for sale to the public. Venues will receive compensation for any pieces sold.
Accompanying merchandise will also be available for sale from the artists, also with venue compensation.
